Raman Microscope: Nicolet Almega XR

Raman Microscope: Nicolet Almega XR

Designed for users who require the analytical power of a high performance Raman microscope in a fully automated system. With its patented Autoalignment, Autoexposure and Smart Background, the Nicolet AlmegaTM XR delivers high quality results in the hands of expert and non-expert users alike. Intended for use in demanding analytical environments, the Almega XR offers uncompromising performance in a low maintenance, easy-to-use package.

The Almega XR features:

  • High-brightness lasers
  • Fully automated laser switching
  • Fully automated calibration procedures
  • 1-µm spatial resolution
  • True confocal performance for depth profiling
  • Precision motorized microscope stage for mapping and high throughput multi-well plate analysis
  • ValPro system qualification package

The Almega XR spectrometer features multiple laser wavelength options for high resolution confocal Raman microscopy and also offers an optional, fully integrated, full-sized compartment for macroscopic sampling. The system provides exceptional sensitivity, spatial resolution and experimental flexibility in a fully automated, Class I laser safe package.

The Almega XR is designed to deliver the analytical power of Raman spectroscopy into the hands of the non-specialist. Instrument alignment is fully automated using the patented automated alignment tool, making it effortless to keep the instrument in top-performing condition.

The Olympus BX51 research-grade microscope and the high-precision motorized stage, combined with high-brightness lasers, create the optimal tool for micron-level analysis. In addition, instrument calibration is fully software-controlled, permitting off-hours scheduling. Features include Autoexposure for true point-and-shoot Raman spectroscopy, Smart Background to save valuable analysis time, and automated fluorescence correction to minimize background interference.

The Almega XR spectrometer uses the same OMNICTM Professional Software Suite that drives all Thermo Scientific laboratory systems. OMNIC is an intuitive, user-friendly software package that offers all of the power and versatility required to exploit the capabilities of the spectrometer. Parameters like laser wavelength, laser power, polarization settings, confocal configuration and desired resolution are controlled using OMNIC software.

OMNIC Array Automation software automates the acquisition of data from sample arrays, including the popular multi-well format, while OMNIC AtlµsTM software supports high-precision sample mapping to permit fully automated collection of dispersive Raman spectra over a large area of the sample. Powerful quantitative methods, including hierarchical cluster analysis and multivariate curve resolution, assist the analyst in rapidly extracting meaningful information from the large quantities of information-rich spectra generated by both mapping and high-throughput applications. In addition, Thermo Scientific offers a comprehensive line of Raman spectral libraries for easy identification of unknown sample components.

For installing the Nicolet Almega XR Dispersive Raman Spectrometer in a regulated or quality control environment, we offer a wide selection of compliance products and services to reduce implementation time and assure system performance.
